WOW! Five years ago I would have laughed at the thought of going into a gym! Sweat? On purpose? NO WAY! However, as a mother of four, I fell into that old rut and packed on pounds. I tried every diet they threw out there and every time… the weight came back. I finally decided I had to make a change. I joined a gym and hid in the cardio cinema! No way did I want to be seen with all of those amazingly fit people out there! I couldn’t run more than two minutes on a treadmill. I slowly began to realize that all of those people in that gym weren’t all fit bodybuilders, but people like me… trying to make a change. It encouraged me to venture into the group fitness room and I immediately fell in love with fitness! The awesome classes! The motivation and dedication of the amazing instructors was such an inspiration. I got to the point where I couldn’t miss one day! Eventually, 60 pounds disappeared and I had found myself again. I had an overwhelming desire to help others the way I was helped. I wanted to teach and touch lives. I am now certified in Les Mills Bodypump, Tabata Bootcamp, Zumba, Mixed Martial Arts, and my absolute favorite, Les Mills Bodycombat! I’ve run over 35 5K’s! Last year I was approached about being the new Director of Fitness and I was overwhelmed! I get to work with the team that helped build me up. This amazing group of people that changed my life. Not only has my fitness journey made me healthier, but its made me a better role model for my children. My biggest motivation everyday is the incredible members at our gym. Group fitness isn’t just about working out… its about starting your day with these incredible people that I now call my friends. My fitness family.
